Social Media News: Twitter Tests Advertising on Profiles
Twitter is testing promoted advertisements on profiles along with a series of other experiments in an attempt to increase revenue. Right now, the ads will only be visible to people who are logged in to their Twitter accounts, but this may change over time.
The ads will be separated from the other tweets with a bumper and Suggested by Twitter so users can distinguish them from other tweets. Twitter advertising is beneficial to companies by allowing them to engage and gain more exposure to their audience.
Twitter also has been reportedly working on a deal with Google, and promoted Tweets may soon be visible in Google search results. That means companies can gain more exposure to their advertisements.

Social Media Platform of the Month: LinkedIn Elevate
Elevate is a social media management app owned by LinkedIn that lets users schedule and share content on LinkedIn and Twitter. Elevate is aimed at both marketers and general employees who wish to share content more easily.
Elevate is a more pared-down version of HootSuite and primarily focuses on LinkedIn. The app is now open for a closed paid pilot, and general availability and pricing will be announced later this year.
Businesses can use Elevate to increase the amount of employees that are sharing content on social media to reach a larger network on LinkedIn. This in turn may help the company with recruiting employees or branding products or services.
