One of Snapchat's biggest problems has been solved. A recent update added a new search bar at the top of the screen, making it easier and more accessible to find friends, publishers and stories.
Snapchat users were having a hard time gaining followers, according to The Next News. Users didnt like having to share their username outside of the app.
This redesign also updated "Our Story" and increased the use of bitmoji. The former now features snaps from all over the world, allowing users to take part without having to physically be there. Meanwhile, the latter is now used in chat and on profiles.
Social Media Tip of the Month: How to Create a 360 Video
360 videos are an exciting way to keep your audience engaged. Here are three steps to create your own:
Get a camera that supports 360-degree video filming, such as GoPro action cameras, or download the app 360cam, available in iTunes and Google Play.
Use a tripod to keep the camera steady.
Stitch together videos into a single video using software such as Autopano Video.
Social Media Platform of the Month: Daycap
Daycap, once featured on iTunes' Best New Apps list, uses photos taken throughout the day and creates a slideshow that can be shared on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Users take photos that can be saved with time and location information. A GIF is then created, and editing features allow users to create titles, delete pictures and tag friends.
Businesses should consider using Daycap to create appealing GIFs of events, products and promotions. For example, instead of worrying about capturing video throughout a conference to create a recap, an event planner can simply take a variety of photos (e.g. keynote speakers, tradeshow floor, networking events, etc.) and put them together in Daycap.
