Social Media News: Facebook Carousel Ads Allow 5 Images
Facebook now allows advertisers to incorporate five images in a single, carousel-style link ad. This allows businesses to showcase five different products within a single ad unit, each with its own text and link to anywhere on their site.
According to Facebook, when comparing carousel link ads to standard link ads, advertisers saw a 30-50 percent decrease in cost per acquisition and a 20-30 percent decrease in cost per click.
To set up, login to Facebook Power Editor or Ads Create Tool and select Multiple images and links in one ad in the Create Ad section.
Social Media Tip of the Month: Republish to Reach Audience
Now that content marketing is more prevalent, it can be hard for businesses to get their posts noticed on social media channels. Plus, target audiences may not even be online when content is published. A solution is to republish your posts, either at different times each day and/or on different days. When republishing, its common practice to precede your post with ICYMI ("in case you missed it"). That tells the audience the post was published at an earlier time.
Social Media Platform of the Month: XING
XING is a social networking website similar to LinkedIn, in that it allows users to connect with suppliers, colleagues and leaders in their industry. The Germany-based platform has more than 10 million users worldwide, mostly in Europe, and thus it is especially useful for those who are doing business overseas.
XING also can be used as a job portal for both employers and job seekers. Users also can find groups, projects and events in their areas of interest.
Like LinkedIn, XING is a free service; however, a premium membership adds additional functionality, such as better search options and the ability to direct message non-contacts.
